Our labels are made to go on in a few minutes, with no special tools. Follow these steps for a clean, long-lasting result.
What you need
- A little isopropyl alcohol and a clean, lint-free cloth
- Clean, dry hands
- A soft cloth or a plastic card to smooth the label down
Step by step
- Check the position first. Hold the label in place without removing the backing and compare with photos of an original bike or your old label.
- Clean the surface. Wipe it with isopropyl alcohol to remove wax, grease and polish residue, and let it dry completely.
- Peel and place one edge. Peel the backing back a little, line up one edge and press it down.
- Smooth from the centre outwards. Use your finger, a soft cloth or a plastic card to push out any air as you remove the rest of the backing.
- Press the edges well and avoid washing the area for 24 hours.
Tips
- Apply at room temperature. Avoid cold surfaces (below about 10 °C) and direct hot sun.
- Fresh paint or clear coat should be fully cured before applying labels. Follow your painter's advice.
- A small bubble can usually be pushed out towards the nearest edge.
- Some kits include dark and light versions of the same label. Use the one that matches the original for your model and colour.
